week one

It was a whirlwind getting here, but now we're all settled in at Edenfred and working away at our first week's music. We have our first Fan the Flames event tonight and our first outreach concert tomorrow, so things are rolling along.

The last couple of months have been really, really busy, with little opportunity to let down my energy. Last night I slept for more than 12 hours! So today I'm feeling re-energized and ready to go. That's a good thing, because it's a hard week! That Chopin Polonaise is a catalog of pianistic things I don't do all that well—makes it a good challenge, I suppose! And the Fauré piano quartet is not exactly a walk in the park either. But it's all going well so far.
